Retirement benefits are provided through the old age insurance component of the Long-Term Insurance Branch of the social security system, administered by the Social Security Institution (Sosyal Guvenlik Kurumu - SGK). Employers must automatically enrol employees under age 45 (and employees age 45 or over upon the employees' request) in a private pension plan arranged through a licensed pension company.
