New pension scheme

The new pension scheme provides benefits on a notional DC basis; benefits are funded through a pay-as-you-go system. Where pillar II contributions are diverted to an OFE, benefits are provided on a DC basis and are fully funded. Pillar I contributions are credited to the main account in ZUS and pillar II contributions are credited to the sub-account in ZUS (excluding any portion diverted to an OFE).

Old pension scheme

The old pension scheme provides benefits on a defined benefit (DB) basis; benefits are funded through a pay-as-you-go system.

PPK

PPKs provide benefits on a DC basis; benefits are fully funded and may be administered by universal pension societies, investment fund societies, employee pension societies and insurance companies.

Typical Employer Practice

PPEs provide benefits on a DC basis; benefits are fully funded.
